“How much is it?” is the first question. Most AI tools either lie or go quiet.

Price, lead time and capacity are the only numbers a company commits to. So Leeeds keeps them out of documents - as a value with an expiry date that the agent may repeat, but never work out.

The short verdict

One person in dozens replies to a cold email. Their first question is usually “how much is it and how fast can you do it”. That is the moment most AI tools do one of two wrong things: they infer a price from website text, or they dodge and answer in generalities.

Both are expensive. An invented price damages the relationship before it starts. A dodge throws away the single reply the whole campaign produced.

Leeeds solves it by taking numbers out of documents. Price, lead time, capacity, guarantee and the references that may be named are stored as separate facts - each with a value the agent copies verbatim, and a date it holds until.

Why a price cannot come from a document

A document can be retrieved and cited, but a paragraph always gets reworded on the way into an answer. And a paraphrased price is an invented price - “from 1,490 EUR excl. VAT for orders over ten units” becomes “around fifteen hundred”, and the company is holding a commitment it never made.

The second problem is time. A price list in a PDF holds until somebody replaces it - except the agent has no idea when that was. A model asked to compare a date with today will eventually decide that last year's price is close enough.

So in Leeeds validity is not judged in the prompt. It is judged in code. The agent is never handed a fact it has to reason about. It is handed only the ones that hold.

What happens when a contact asks about price

The whole run is a straight line: a question about a number arrived → a stated fact exists and still holds → repeat it exactly → show the source → check no other figure slipped into the text.

A pricing question stops being a stop

By default a pricing question is a reason to hand the conversation to a human. That stop lifts only when a valid price is on file. Without one, the agent behaves exactly as before - nothing gets worse, nothing gets unlocked.

The figure is copied, not calculated

The agent receives the list of valid facts and an instruction to repeat them verbatim. No rounding, no currency conversion, no averages, no “that would be about double”. If the answer would need a figure that is not listed, it writes the sentence without one.

The source stays with the figure

The fact used is recorded against the draft as a citation, the same way a page from a PDF is. Whoever approves the draft does not have to go looking for where the price came from - it sits next to the text.

The text is checked for figures that do not belong

Before a draft reaches approval, the outgoing text is checked: if it contains an amount that no cited fact backs, that is flagged as a risk and the conversation goes to a human. The same check runs on cold emails.

Once expired, the agent goes quiet on its own

For price and lead time the expiry date is mandatory - in the form and at the API, so a fact cannot lose it by being edited. The moment it passes, the fact stops existing for the agent and pricing questions come back to you. The portal warns fourteen days ahead.

What you configure

Kind of fact. Price, lead time, capacity, guarantee, reference or other. Price and lead time must carry an expiry, because those are the two numbers you commit to and the two that go stale fastest.

The value, exactly as it may be said. Not your internal calculation, but the sentence your salesperson would say: “from 1,490 EUR” with the note “excl. VAT, for orders over 10 units”.

Scope. Facts belong to the account. A client with two offers - one price for distributors, another direct - ticks which facts a given agent may use. Nothing ticked means every valid fact is fair game, so a company with one offer configures nothing.

Where it applies. The same facts govern figures in a reply to a contact, in the agent's answers on your website, and in cold emails. Companies with no stated facts are unaffected - their emails behave exactly as before.

How it plays out in a real thread

The contact asks “how much is it” and your price list is valid: the agent gives the exact figure with its note, and the draft shows which fact it came from.
The price list expired last week: the agent does not give a price, flags the missing material and hands the conversation to you - regardless of having quoted it a month earlier.
The contact wants a price for a quantity your list does not cover: the agent does not extrapolate, says you will confirm the exact figure, and records what was missing.
The model tries to slip a different amount into the text: the outgoing check catches it and the draft goes to approval with a flag instead of going out.
You run one campaign for distributors and another direct: each agent has its own facts ticked, so the end-customer price cannot reach the distributor campaign.

Why it is built this way

An unlocked question

01

Price is no longer a stop

The most common first question can be answered without letting an AI make numbers up.

Ageing under control

02

Expiry is mandatory

A price or lead time with no end date would go stale quietly. In Leeeds it cannot be saved without one.

No change for everyone else

03

No facts, no difference

The number check switches on with the first stated fact. Without one, sending behaves exactly as before.

What to take from this

The difference between “an AI that answers” and “an AI you can trust” is not the model. It is whether it has somewhere to take numbers from, and whether anybody checked they still hold.

Putting your price list into Leeeds takes ten minutes, and it is the cheapest step that stops the agent handing the most common question straight back to you.
